One set of notes can have more than one chord name. Each candidate below shows its bass, missing or extra tones, and available instrument voicings.

Identify notes or a guitar shape

Note names accept A–G with one sharp or flat. Guitar frets use six strings from low to high; 0 is open and x is muted.

Use x32010 for frets 0–9, or x-8-10-10-10-8 for frets above 9. The tuning and capo are applied to every played string.
