Play the open shape at the top; the row shows the chord you hear with the capo on that fret. With the capo on fret 2, the G shape sounds as A. Read it the other way to find a capo spot: to play in Eb with easy shapes, put the capo on fret 3 and use C shapes, or on fret 1 and use D shapes.
